Joy in Haiti

Drydens (pronounced “Joy-dens”) began grade two in his Haitian school – but after just one week – was no longer there.  How did this come to anyone’s attention?  The daughter of ICMS ministry partner, Planting Life Haiti, was in the same class, and noticed his absence.

The kids would see him watching through the fence in his backyard while they walked home and soon learned that his family just didn’t have the funds to continue.  In Haiti, there is school tuition to pay, uniforms to buy and even in Elementary school, the textbooks are priced out of range for many. Children without books are sent home.

Because of the generosity from ICMS donors, and ministry partners living among the poor, enough money was raised to send Drydens and 19 other kids back to school!  With some of the extra money, Drydens’ mom will hopefully be able to start a small business and generate income for her family.
